Hi Eric,

The key here is that "Direct and Manage Project Work" includes leading AND doing the work. One of the outputs is the Deliverable itself. After that you move on to Control Quality.

I believe this answers your question...

In lesson L04.06.3 "Perform Integrated Change Control Part 3", the "Takeways" mentioned approved change requests are implemented via 3 processes:
1. Direct and Manage project work
2. Control Quality
3. Control Procurement
According to PMBOK page 298 "Control Quality is the process of monitoring and recording results of executing the quality management activities in order to access performance and ensure the project outputs are complete, correct and meet customer expectations", it's not doing any implementation.
PMBOK 8.3.1.3 mentioned "The implementation of approved changes should be verified, confirmed for completeness, retested, and certified as correct".
It sounds "control quality" process only verifies "approved change request", doesn't do any implementation.

Any suggestions?
