Markus laid out a very solid and realistic plan, and I would absolutely support that direction.
Starting from zero, with work and family commitments, trying to “race” the current exam before July is simply too tight and carries unnecessary risk, especially if a retake becomes necessary.
The good news is that you
have enough time to do this properly and still meet your year-end goal.
Given your situation, I would actually recommend a slightly adjusted approach:
- Wait until the updated 2026 materials are available
- Begin your 35 contact hours and exam prep in May
- Submit your application once your training is underway
- Study through the summer and target a September or October exam date
We will begin releasing our
2026 PMP training course and simulator starting on 2026-May-08, so starting your preparation at that point gives you a clean, aligned path without having to switch between versions.
You won’t be studying for a “moving target.” The outline is already defined, and the materials will be available in time for your study plan.
