PrepCast 2026 Update: What to Expect from Your PMP Training and Simulator

1. PMP Exam Update Overview

The PMP exam is changing on 2026-July-09.

As always, we are updating both our PrepCast Training Course and our PMP Exam Simulator to fully support the new version of the exam. Our goal remains the same: to help you confidently prepare for and pass your PMP exam, whether you plan to take the current version or the new one.

Here is a quick overview of your options based on when you begin your studies in 2026:

• Starting in April: Enough time to prepare for the current exam
• Starting in May: Possible, but requires full focus and commitment
• Starting in June: Begin preparing for the new exam

There is one additional factor that many students underestimate: exam seat availability. As we approach the transition date, it becomes increasingly difficult to find an available exam slot. So even if you are ready, you may not be able to schedule your "old" exam in time before the "new" exam goes into effect.

3. Which Exam Should You Take?

Choosing between the current and the new PMP exam depends primarily on your start date.

If you begin in April 2026, you still have enough time to prepare for and take the current exam before 2026-July-07.

If you begin in May 2026, passing the current exam is still possible, but only if you commit fully and make your preparation your top priority. This is really only recommended if you can invest 4-6 hours of studying every single weekday. Not recommended if you have a full-time job.

If you begin in June 2026, you should not try to rush for the current exam. Instead, begin studying for the new exam and plan to take it once it becomes available on 2026-July-09.

4. Our 2026 Update Strategy

To support you as soon as possible with studying for the new exam, we will release our updated products early and then continue to add new content as it becomes available.

This approach is commonly known as a Minimal Viable Product, or MVP. In practical terms, this means that you can begin your studies as soon as the new version is released, while additional lessons and more exams with additional sample questions are continuously added in the background. If you purchase the MVP, then the new lessons/questions will be added at no additional cost to you.

To be clear: The word "Minimum" in Minimum Viable Product refers only to the volume of content, never the quality. Every lesson and exam question included in the MVP has passed our rigorous quality control and is 100% aligned with the new 2026 Examination Content Outline (ECO). You are receiving the high-standard PrepCast experience from day one; we are simply delivering it in phases so you can start your journey immediately.

This allows you to get started immediately instead of waiting for a “fully finished” version. By the time you are ready to take your exam, the course and simulator will have been further expanded with additional content.

5. What You Get Starting 2026-May-08

On 2026-May-08, we will release the updated versions of both the PrepCast Training Course and the PMP Exam Simulator. Here is what will be available at launch:

PrepCast Training Course Core Release

• All lessons for the People domain
• All lessons for the Business Environment domain
• Most lessons for the Process domain
• Agile and adaptive content included

PMP Exam Simulator Deluxe Core Release

• The PMP Exam Simulator Deluxe (4-exam version) will launch as the MVP with 2 full exams (180 questions each)

We have strategically prioritized the newest and most critical 2026 exam topics for this initial release. This ensures that your earliest study hours are spent mastering the content that has changed the most, while we finalize the additional practice exams and process deep-dives in the background.

The Simulator Advanced and Essential versions will follow approximately 4-6 weeks later.

This gives you everything you need to begin your preparation right away. Furthermore, if you purchase the MVP, then additional lessons and exams will be added at no extra cost. As soon as new content is published, it becomes available in your account. Our plan is to release training lessons continuously as they are completed, and new simulator exams are released once all questions in the exam have been fully reviewed and approved.

6. Pricing and Early Access

Because we release early, the MVP of our products is offered at a lower price. Later on, as we continue to add more lessons and additional simulator exams, pricing will increase accordingly.

For example, once the 3rd full exam is added to the simulator, the price will be adjusted to reflect the expanded content. This means that early purchasers benefit from lower pricing while still receiving all newly released content as it becomes available.

7. Purchasing and Upgrade Options

We offer several upgrade options depending on when you purchased your original PrepCast training course or PMP Exam Simulator. If you are a new customer, simply buy the new version and skip the old.

7.1 Buy New

Starting 2026-May-08 you can purchase the new MVP version of the PrepCast Training Course and/or PMP Exam Simulator directly. This gives you access to the updated version, including all lessons and exams that are released as part of this update. Initially, the MVP is offered at a discounted price.

7.2 Free Upgrade

You qualify for a free upgrade if:

• You purchased your product between 2026-January-01 and 2026-May-08
• You have not yet passed your PMP exam

7.3 Discounted Upgrade

You qualify for a discounted upgrade if:

• You purchased your product between 2025-July-09 and 2025-December-31
• You have not yet passed your PMP exam

7.4 Upgrade Rules

• All upgrades must be requested via email
• No automatic upgrades are provided
• All upgrade requests must be submitted by 2026-December-31

9. Who Qualifies for an Upgrade

To qualify for a free or discounted upgrade:

• You must not have passed your PMP exam
• You must fall within the defined purchase date ranges
• You must submit your request before 2026-December-31
• No free or discounted upgrades are available to anyone who has previously received a free or discounted upgrade. (For example, from version 5 to 6, or from version 6 to 7)

• A support ticket is created
• Your eligibility is reviewed
• You will be contacted if additional information is required
• If approved, your upgrade will be processed

You will receive confirmation once your upgraded access is available.
