Hi Sharon,

If a project is prematurely terminated and cannot be completed in terms of the activities originally planned, the project manager still has the responsibility to end it appropriately, by performing steps associated in the Closing Process Group. There is value in writing the final report and including the successes and failures of the project, which are useful for a business to understand why the project was terminated, and spells out the procedures for transferring unfinished and finished deliverables and unused materials, depending upon the agreements.

When is a final report not required?

I've seen different responses on practice quizzes but for all of them the project is prematurely terminating yet sometimes the correct answer is write a final report and sometimes it says no final report. I can't tell when a final report is needed if a project prematurely terminates.
