In the self assessment for Module 5 Scope Management, question 12 asks:

A software development project is underway. The project sponsor has just notified the project manager that all the deliverables must be accepted at least a month earlier than originally planned. The project sponsor plans to account the project completion during a board meeting. Where in the scope statement must the project manager record this?

A ) Acceptance criteria
B ) Exclusions
C ) Assumptions
D ) Constraints

The correct answer is D) Constraints.

I understand why the information is recorded in constraints, the schedule deadline has moved up by a month, that is indeed a constraint on the project. However, the PMBOK Guide says project scope description, deliverables, acceptance criteria and project exclusions are components of the scope statement. Whereas, the assumption log in project documents records assumptions and constraints.

Why would this new project constraint be updated in the scope statement vs project documentation - assumption log?
