If you are taking your exam in March, ignore the "pilot exam" and anything associated with the "new exam." PMI is changing on July 1, so all current study materials and exam simulator questions are going to be good.

PMI is running a pilot program for folks who want to take the new exam. Results will not be available immediately as PMI will analyze them. You'll find out your results in May if you take the pilot and can re-test at no charge.

I have also signed up to the pilot exam in March in advance of the July 2020 rollout.
The exam content document is a bit confusing.
For example, there are only 3 domains (process groups) now: People, Process and Business Environment.
Any guidance on whether there are study materials beyond PMBOK6 and Agile?

The current version of our training materials is not aligned with the new exam at this time. To our knowledge, none of the other large exam prep providers are ready to support students for the pilot exam at this time either.

Hi,

I understand your stress. The pilot exam are using same syllabus as current PMBOK V6. For your information PMP exam are based on the PMP Exam Content Outline. The breakdown of the questions
will match exam content outline. You can take a look at the attachments. I have attached both Content Outline for references.
PMBOK is the main guide that you need to use for the exam preparation, yet, you still can questions outside PMBOK as well.

As for the format of the exam, based from some little information I obtain,

1. Multiple choice questions still will be there
2. Some questions you may have more than one correct answers. It could be checkbox instead of radio button
3. There could be matching based questions

Maybe you could try the new CAPM exam format. That could be a help as well.

Regards

Mani Selvan

Where to find these "new" reference for study? There are not in PMBOK.
Thanks

Have you been accepted by PMI to take part in the current pilot program for the new, upcoming PMP exam?

If yes, please send a message to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We have an MVP of two exams ready for the new exam and we are looking for beta testers to use our new questions as you are preparing for the new pilot exam.

In your message, please include the following:
- Subject Line: PMP Pilot Beta Tester
- Your full name
- Email address
- Proof (screenshot) from PMI that you are approved for the pilot exam

We will then go ahead and add you to our list of potential beta candidates and will be back in touch.

Hi Everyone,

I am just checking if anyone here still is a bit stuck for material for the Pilot? I can help with some questions so at least you can do some practice. Please know that for at least 50% of the new exam, the questions that you are using on Prepcast are still totally relevant. So if you are in need, email me please and let me know when your PILOT exam date. I don't have a 'simulation' product but I had created a bunch of questions to go with my instructor led training (in Australia). At some point when Prepcast is updated to the new exam, we'll use them for our courses but in the meantime, I have some.

Viswanathan:

Please see the previous discussion on how to participate in the Pilot (Beta) program. Also note, that if you're taking the exam in March 2020, you will not be getting the "new" PMP exam that starts on 1 July 2020 and the exam simulator as it is right now should prepare you well for the exam.

Best,

Harry

Hi all,

I have just taken this Pilot exam and i think I will fail badly because I prepared for the more predictive PMP exam version.

Anyone knows if I re-take can retake this exam and change it back to the predictive PMP exam version?

Please feel free to drop me an email to discuss.
