The project management plan is not developed in a sequential fashion, where one subsidiary plan is developed through to completion before the start of another subsidiary plan. That would not be possible as outputs from the various processes serve as inputs to the other processes. Rather, the project management plan is developed in an iterative fashion and some of the planning processes will be performed in parallel. In this manner, the project management plan will be progressively elaborated until it has been finalized.

Resource Mng Question

's Avatar

Hi all,

Can someone please help me clarify one point on resource management? Plan resource management process is implemented before estimating activity resources. In plan resource management, you assign roles and responsibilities, you create a team charter, you use a RAM/RACI chart ( which basically means that you can say John is responsible for doing X, Mary is responsible for doing Y, etc..) And after you plan resource management, you estimate activity resources. ( We will need two people, John and Mary, to do X and Y) How come you can assign roles and responsibilities and create a team charter before you estimate the resources that you need in your team?

Thank you!
