If you're preventing a problem that had ill consequences from recurring in the future, would that be considered a corrective action or preventive action?

If something hasn't happen yet and you want to prevent it from happening so that your performance will not deviate from baselines, that will be a preventive action.
On the contrary, if something has happened and you want to rectify it to bring performance back to baselines, that will be a corrective action.
