Hi Cyril,

You are totally correct!

Total float = LF - EF or (LS - ES)
Free float = Successor ES - Current EF

In the Critical Path Method shown in different books and videos, the float in the network diagram for activity is actual the total float of the activity. To know the free float of this activity, we need to subtract the early finish from this activity from the early start from the successor, correct ?
In the attached file, we can see that activity A has a total float of 2, but a free float of 1, correct ?
