If you have the Project Management experience then just take the PMP exam. CAPM is for those entry level folks that don't have the experience leading projects.

I feel it is the same level of effort to prepare for either one so if you have the experienice, get the certification that you deserve!

Plus, the CAPM expires in 5 years it is really a stepping stone......
