Hi Guys,

Recently just saw one question.

During the project time, functional manager asks to move two team member from pm team to another project. How should PM response?
1. negotiation 2. Conflict management

Can share with me which one is the correct answer? I choose answer 1.

And for PMP exam, by default, PM power less than functional manager or higher? And by default in weak matrix or strong matrix? I read two materials and found two different answers, so would like to clarify from here.

Thanks!

Cherry,

The PMP exam will be explicit on which type of organization the PM is in for each question related to organizations. Without knowing the organization type, its hard to answer your practice question. I would hazard a guess that it is indeed #1, as the functional manager should negotiate with the PM on personnel moves, and since he asked the PM, instead of moving the personnel on his own, he wants input into the decision, ruling out conflict management.
