This is mentioned in the PMBOK guide a few times:

"Enterprise environmental factors updates" as an output to one of the processes, such as manage project team.

Now I understood that EEFs are those things that you generally cannot change, such as the weather or government regulations.

So is updating an EEF something like updating the weather if you do not like it ?

Stephen,

You have to look at each EEF separately to determine what exactly the "update" means. In the case of Manage Project Team we have:
  • Input to organizational performance appraisals -- Here you as the project manager would update the project team's personnel records and give your appraisal on how well they did on the project
  • Personnel skill updates -- Here you would update another area of the personnel records if a team member has learned a new skill on the project.
Does that make sense?
