Hi, I'm in the process of completing my PMP application, and the project descriptions are proving to be the most challenging part.

I've read through several posts and searched online, but I'm still looking for examples that clearly demonstrate the level of detail and format PMI expects.

For those who've successfully completed the application:

1. What resources helped you write your project descriptions?
2. Did you come across any articles, templates, or sample descriptions that you found particularly useful?
3. Are there any common mistakes you wish you'd known about before submitting your application?

I'd appreciate any recommendations or examples that helped make the application process easier. Thanks!

Hi Edward,
I applied severals years ago and don't remember everything, but the project description is not expected to be too detailed. Make sure you mention all project stages (e.g. initiation, planning, execution, etc.) and just give a short example of activities you performed as a PM during each of the stages).
Good luck!

Hi Edward,

I recommend taking PM Prepcast course it explains in detail how to prepare for this phase. As a copy editor I also used AI, just to make sure I had covered all the areas. I know this part can seem daughting as there is no obvious feedback loop so you are left wondering if you have delivered enough.
Firstly if you followed the guidence of trainner such as prepcast and you use AI as a copyeditor you should be fine, PMI are not trying to fail you, just remember they are looking for evidence that you have lead projects through multple phases. So its important that you can show this., also remember in case they do audit make sure its in a language that also the people who can confirm the experince understand so not turn it into a full PMI guide.
