Trying to decide if I push for a June exam or just accept I'm taking the new version after July.

My PrepCast scores are in the low 70s. Not great but not terrible.

Anyone else in this limbo right now?

The low 70s on PrepCast are exactly the gray zone. Candidates who pass consistently usually sit in the high 70s or 80s on full-length mocks before booking.
Low 70s means a pass is possible, but you're relying on a good day rather than a real margin.

The more useful question is your trajectory. If scores are still climbing week over week, a June attempt is realistic. If you've plateaued for three weeks, rushing into June mostly
buys you a likely retake under the new ECO anyway.

Post-July will lean heavily on hybrid case-study scenarios, situational complexity, and PMBOK 8 references. Different prep style, not necessarily harder.
Decide based on your delta, not the calendar.

Paul,

I would actually disagree with Markus. When I took the Exam it would say around a 70 gave you about a 90% chance to pass the first try and then a 95% chance to pass on the second try. I was generally scoring around a high 60 and low 70 consistently before I tested and I was able to pass on the first try.

Paul,

"Back in the day" (that is, two or three exam iterations ago), I was plateaued with the PrepCast Exam simulator at about 75-78% and just stuck. I was sick of studying so I just pulled the trigger and passed with all areas "Above Target." A deeper look at the scores, however, indicated that I either really knew section or really bombed the section, and just my average of right vs. wrong landed my "Above Target! !! A pass is a pass, so it doesn't really matter.

Only you can make the decision. However, my advice is if you choose to put it off until after the July exam rolls out, take a couple of months and do simulator questions to get a feel for the new format.

Good luck.
