The PMP exam is not a test of the PMBOK guide, although the PMBOK is an important reference. Read through teh Exam Content Outline and the Self Study Resources that are available on the PMI site. Here's a link:

Just finished a live boot camp last week. Paid $1,200 out of pocket. Instructor spent the whole time drilling ITTOs and Knowledge Areas.

Then I get home and realize PMBOK 8 has been out for months and the new exam is all about Performance Domains and Principles.

I feel completely ripped off. For those who've been through this: how much of what I learned is actually transferable? Or did I just waste my money and need to start over with new materials?
