I've been an Agile Coach/Scrum Master for 8 years. Always saw the PMP as the 'other,' predictive side. But with PMBOK 8 and the new exam ditching strict processes for 'Performance Domains' (like Team, Stakeholders, Uncertainty) and focusing on 'value' delivery... this suddenly looks relevant.

For agile-native people who've taken the new-style exam (maybe via PMI-ACP?): Does it finally speak our language, or is it just a rebrand of the same old content? Curious if I should bridge over.

My 2-cents only here, Francescka,

The PMP remains the "gold standard" for project management certification because it aligns with the US ANSI Standard for project management. That standard has changed rapidly over the last decade ro recognize Agile and Hybrid project management styles. Therefore the PMP exam has also evolved.

If you want a gig with the Feds or large companies that have projects other than "software" or "tech," they are looking for project managers with the PMP certification.
