TOPIC: Is the 'Mindset' Really That Important?

I keep seeing people talk about the "PMP Mindset" in forum comments and review videos. I understand the basic idea—being a servant leader, focusing on value, etc.—but I'm wondering how critical it really is for the exam.

Are there a significant number of questions that hinge entirely on understanding this mindset versus just knowing the processes and ITTOs? I'm scoring in the low 70s on my practice exams and wondering if doubling down on the mindset is the key to breaking into the 80s, or if I should just keep drilling my weaker knowledge areas. For those who passed, how would you weigh its importance? Thanks!

Mindset is part of scoring higher. I don't think itto's are of much concern but how you apply them in scenarios. Focus more on RCA's to determine WHY you had the question wrong. Don't memorize the RCA but understand so that anytime you meet a similar one, you can apply.

Hi George, getting into the "mindset" will allow you to instinctively answer questions on the actual exam. It is not an "either-or" situation - you definitely need to know the "tangible knowledge topics" but the mindset will aid you during the exam.
