That is an individual decision. Personally, I find it worth it to maintain my credential.
But the answer for you depends on your situation: would continuing to have a PMP certification be important to you? Has the nature of your work changed, does it still have to do with managing projects/ programs?
If you have moved to a completely new profile in the last 3 years, you should seriously question whether the credential adds value to you, else I would like to believe it is worth it in general. But your call totally!

I understand your surprise; many people only notice at the very end that renewal isn’t automatic once the 60 PDUs are completed. The reality is: yes, it’s worth renewing. If you let it lapse,
you’d have to go through the exam process again, and nobody wants that. The renewal fee is small compared to the time, cost and effort it took to earn the certification.
And if you’re a PMI member, the benefits and discounts usually pay off by themselves. I always tell my students and clients that the PMP is more than a paper, it’s a signal of commitment.
Keeping it active saves you a much bigger headache later. So yes, press that button.

Edward,

I am a member of three professional organizations and I get value out of each one. Only you can make that decision, however.

Passed the PMP three years ago tomorrow and just finished inputting the last of my PDUs tonight. I was VERY surprised to find out that after you meet the 60 PDU requirement, you then need to press a button that says "Renew", and then pay either $60 (if you're a PMI member) or $150 if you're not. Can someone enlighten me if this is worth it to renew?
