Paul,

They do not release the passing score, and you won't receive a score. You will have three categories which will have scores ranging from low to high score in those areas. You can score low in an area and still pass.

The only way I think you could approximate a passing score is through the Exam Simulator on Prepcast. It will give you a pass rate of people who scored in certain brackets. It's not perfect, but it will tell you how many people passed their PMP because on their score on the simulator.

Paul,

Search the boards a little and you'll find the answer to your question in more detail.

Shortly: The actual "passing score" for the PMP exam is a closely guarded secret at PMI and no one knows what it is. Also, with their testing method, your "passing score" will be slightly different than the person who is taking the test next to you. Tests are computer generated and each question has a difficulty weighting associated with it, so the true passing score will vary somewhat person-to-person.

A general thumbrule for the PrepCast Exam Simulator is that if you're consistently punching out 80%+ on full exams, you're probably well-prepared for the real PMI exam. I can't speak to other exam simulators and their thumb rules.

Good luck

Hey, so I'm just gauging what my goal is, of course I'd love to go beyond the passing score but I'd love to have an end goal in sight for motivation. Thanks!
