Project management has always been part of the job (timelines, teams, chaos), but now I want formal training. I’m weighing PMI-ACP, CAPM, and PMP.

If you’ve made a similar pivot from creative backgrounds: Which cert actually helped you grow? Was any one more accessible or applicable without a business background?

Good morning, Matthew:

The CAPM and PMP are related, the CAPM being the more "junior" certification for lack of a better word. PMP is recognized as the "terminal" certification for PMI.

The PMI-ACP is a subordinate certification to the PMP. It's a recognition that you know something about agile project management methodology. If it were up to me, it would be a certification I would seek AFTER the PMP.

If you qualify for the PMP, skip the CAPM. It's more of a stepping stone anyway.

Good luck.
