Hello everyone!

I’m an IT grad with 9 years of solid work experience under my belt.
I've been grinding through PMP Exam simulators like PM PrepCast and soaking up knowledge from Project Management courses. I feel like I’ve been doing all the things, but somehow, I’m not sure it’s enough. I come from a strong academic background, and I'm used to overachieving.

Still, the PMP feels like an entirely different beast. Those situational questions? They’re no joke. Am I overthinking this, or is there still something I've got to do? Would love to hear tips, tricks, or even just some reassurance from anyone who's been there!

Hi Warren! Different people have different thresholds of what constitutes "good enough". The PMP is very much a game of whether your assessment of "good enough" matches the exam's definition.
I would very much advise against overthinking and over-preparing, since that can consume valuable resources (time, energy) while causing undue anxiety.
At the same time, it it important you are prepared well enough to do the exam well.

How have you been faring on the Exam Simulator tests? That is the key to actually helping you with a more concrete answer here.
If you take the tests like you are giving an actual exam and you consistently get >85% I would say you are good to go.
If you are not consistent, then you would need to zone into which areas you seem to be having difficulty in, and then focussing your efforts there.

But without the actual numbers, you cannot take a call. Best of luck!

Warren,

You are likely over-prepping, but the correct answer is to prepare as much as you feel comfortable. If you feel like there is much more you need to learn, then add some more studying in. I would say study all the way until a few days before the test so everything is fresh in your mind. Stop a few days prior so your brain has time to rest.
