Decomposition is just an activity. You can decompose deliverables (on a WBS) and you can decompose activites (in Time). Decomposing just means : Breaking down into smaller bits.
Sure,
(This is not related to this thread)
Why do "Create WBS" process has decomposition as a T&T, when the actual decomposition is happening at Define Activities process in Time Management. Thats some what confusing to me.
The WBS Dictionary is a document that lists more details about the work packages in the WBS. Inmportant: It contains information on a WORK PACKAGE level.
Sequence Activities is the process of organizing tasks in a logical sequence. Important: This is the sequencing of TASKS
So you see that these 2 items manage different aspects of your project - work packages in one and tasks in the other.
Can anyone explain the difference between WBS Dictionary Vs Sequence Activities?
WBS disctionary also has information about time, cost, resources assigned, along with more technical details of WBS. While, time, effort are planned during Duration Estimates and Schedule Activity Resources, how can WBS dictionary would have this information available.
