Hello Everyone

This is an amazing feeling to share the success news for passing PMP in 2021.
My first attempt was last year where I couldn't make to pass, however decided to take another attempt and this time it was based on altogether new exam contents outline (ECO).
It was challenging to comprehend the new ECO however the review of topics on this forum as well as spending detailed time on it resulted in understanding the difference and getting prepared accordingly.
I was able to get Above Target in all 3 domains.

In my opinion the new ECO is more flexible and easy to study as compared to previous one. The introduction of agile in combination with predictive approaches actually makes it achievable
My preparation included following

• Review of PMBOK 6th ed in summary
• Review of Agile Practice Guide
• Exam Prep Course 2021 – available on PMI website (completed twice)
• PrepCast Free Exam – 66 questions (highly recommended as minimum)

Attempting exam is totally different than preparation. Time management and focus plays critical role. I was able to manage to complete all questions just in time.
New exam format is more supportive to attempt with 2 breaks 10 min each after every 60 questions. It gives chance to re-energize and avoid extensive fatigue.
Exam is 60 – 80% Agile with combination of questions.

• No network diagram or calculation questions.
• At least 5 – 7 drag and drop type questions.
• 5 - 10 questions to choose 2 options out of 5/7.

Key rules to follow during exam
• Avoid options involving escalation to sponsor or functional manager.
• Avoid options suggesting to send emails
• Try to strike through the obvious wrong options.

Last but not the least, thanks a lot to this forum for including valuable tips and guidance to make it success.
Wish you all the very best !

Best Regards
Naeem.
