Passed PMP on 19th March 2019 – Above Target Rating First Attempt
I wanted to share my experience and some below observation.
PMOK guide has written with structure English, found it little difficult to understand with first time reading and very much demotivating and to make It easy, will recommend reading the Andy Crowe Book first – How to pass on your first Try and then followed with PMBOK6.
Reference Book: I use both the below reference book:
- Andy Crowe Book – Very much high level, not enough for passing the PMP exam but referring Andy Book make PMBOK reading easier, the contain flow of Andy book is very much aligned with PMBOK
- Rita is using own process chart, this can be little confusing to the beginner and I suggest
Read PMBOK first and refer Rita only if some more understanding required with any particular topic.
Below the Sequence, I followed for My PMP Exam Preparation.
1. Read PMP reference Book, Andy Crowe-: 2 -3-week duration
2. (Register to PMI- 1year Membership)
3. Read PMBOK6 Guide: 2 - 3-week duration
- Read-only Part-1 (Follow Process Groupe Sequence) and go through below Video from Ricardo- elaboration of the Processes Flow of the PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition

3. Attend the PMP training program – obtain 35hr. PDU certificate.
5. Submit the PMP Exam application
6. Read PMBOK-6 -Part-1 & Glossary (Reference Rita 9th Edition- for more clarification)- 2 weeks
After the training program, the PMBOK6 understanding will be clearer
7. Attempt PMP Free Mock Exam - below the trusted free Resource
www.project-management-prepcast.com/pmp-...uestions-sample-test
www.oliverlehmann.com/pmp-self-test/100-free-questions.htm
www.simplilearn.com/pmp-exam-prep-free-practice-test
for an incorrect answer - capture the knowledge gap and read PMBOK.
8.Purchase premium Mock exam simulator - www.pm-exam-simulator.com/
7 no. of Mock exam - resemble actual PMP exam question
if candidate scoring 80% and above on First attempt, then a 90% chance of passing PMP exam.
- PMP Exam will present lots of situational questions and the quality situational question only available with the paid simulator and I found PM Prep cast Simulator fulfilling the requirement and Highly recommended.
below is my scoring before attempting the PMP exam - I pass with Above Target rating.
PM Prep Cast Simulator- First Attempt Scoring
PMP Exam 1 83%
PMP Exam 2 80%
PMP Exam 3 81.5%
PMP Exam 4 79.5%
PMP Exam 5 83%
PMP Exam 6 76.5%
PMP Exam 7 81%

Thanks,
Shoheb
