Tanz,

Esteem generally includes a person's self-awareness of their own personality and their need to feel accomplished. Becoming a project manager could easily fill that need, depending on that individual's goals in life and what they were doing prior to that job. Esteem is certainly a part of becoming self-actualized, the highest level of Maslow's Hierarchy. Once a person has reached this pinnacle, they feel like they have fulfilled all of their goals/dreams and have reached the peak of their talents and potential.

Hi all,
I want to ask whether taking an opportunity to become a project leader is categorized in achieving Esteem Need in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs or not.
Can anyone also help me to answer how to differ between esteem and self actualization by giving me example?

Thanks,
tanz
