Is define scope occurring during initiation process group or in the planning process group?

to be able to answer such questions easily, you can refer to "Table 3-1. Project Management Process Group and Knowledge Area Mapping" in the PMBOK, the table maps each process to process groups and knowledge areas. you have to understand such table very well.

as for the define scope process, it is in "Planning" Process Group and "Project Scope Management" knowledge area.
