Raj,

For the application they are not called "phases", but instead PMI calls them "Process Groups". PMI requires that you have some experience hours in all of the 5 groups of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling as well as Closing. However, PMI does not provide a number, like "You must show 50 hours minimum". PMI does not require you to show experience in all 5 groups for all your projects - just overall. So what you need to do is to honestly report your hours to PMI.

My recommendation: Take a look at the paper-based application form to see how to report this:

Hi

Is there any minimum no:of hours in each phase(like planning, executing, etc) required for applying for PMP.

How do i provide them the experience manhours for each phase?
