Ok, was not sure if it also applied to a change of industry or not, so thank you for the clarification!

Daphne,

The answer to your questions is in the code of ethics - just below that section. Here is what it says:

Comment: Where developmental or stretch assignments are being considered, we ensure that key stakeholders receive timely and complete information regarding the gaps in our qualifications so that they may make informed decisions regarding our suitability for a particular assignment.

Not sure if this is necessarily exam related, but it was the best place that I could find to post this question.

In the PMI Code of Ethics, clause 2.2.2 states "We accept only those assignments that are consistent with our background, experience, skills, and qualifications."

How does this work in relation to the following:

1- Someone who currently works in a certain field of practice, but they want to move into another field of practice (example: they work in IT, but want to move into the construction industry as it is an area that they love and want to work in). They do not currently have any background, experience, skills, or qualifications with regards to the construction industry, but they are very keen to move into this new field of practice and willing and motivated to learn as much about it as possible so that they can apply their PM skills in that area.

2- A team member is added to the project, but does not have the skill, but will receive on-the-job training to bring their skills up to par to be able to perform on the project.

How would these scenarios relate to clause 2.2.2 of the PMI Code of Ethics?

Thank you.
