From PM PrepCast E09.04.2:

When to use the Conflict Resolution Techniques.

What does it mean that you use "Compromise" when "the Stakes are Moderate ?"

Also, you use "Smoothing" when the "Stakes are low, and liability is limited ?"

I just could not tell what "Stakes" mean here ?

I did not understand the above points.

Appreciate your clarification.

Tarek.

Tarek,

The simplest synonym to use would be "risk". So if the risks are moderate or low.

But, after I have reviewed the complete subject, and looked up the meaning of "Stakes", it appears to me that "Stakes" would mean "the power points you have", or "the level of confidence you have", ie, High Stakes means high confidence.

Otherwise, my understanding is completely incorrect.

Tarek.
