I would appreciate other people's thoughts on the following question taken from Ten Step’s ReadySetPass Exam Simulator:
While planning the scope of the New Wave project Natalie has finalized the Scope Management Plan. What process should she perform next?
A. Create WBS
B. Control Scope
C. Plan Risk Management
D. Define Activities
Correct answer given is B. Control Scope with the justification, “The Scope Management Plan is created during Develop Project Management Plan process. Control Scope is the next process”.
I don’t agree. Here’s why…
According to the PMBOK Project Scope Management consists of:
5.1 Collect Requirements (Planning Process Group)
5.2 Define Scope (Planning Process Group)
5.3 Create WBS (Planning Process Group)
5.4 Verify Scope (Monitoring & Controlling Process Group)
5.5 Control Scope (Monitoring & Controlling Process Group)
Therefore, once Natalie has finalised the Scope Management Plan (which she created in 4.2 – Develop Project Management Plan), she will create the WBS before controlling the scope and the answer ought to be – A. Ceate WBS? Can some one point out the flaw in my logic, please?
