TOPIC: Failed the new exam. Help.

Marketing ops for 6 years, transitioning into PM work. Took the updated exam last week and failed.

The case study sets threw me off. Multiple questions tied to one scenario. If you misinterpret something early, it messes up your whole flow.

For those who passed: what resources are you using? Are the updated simulators actually good yet?

It may be too early for most simulators. The Prepcast has said to be updated already. How badly did you fail? It may be worthwhile to study for another 6 months.

I am sorry to hear you fail, a couple of quick questions:

(1) Did you take any exam simulators ? If so what were you grades? - This can give you a baseline
(2) Although PMI never gives the actual marks you should get back which areas you failed? Did you have a weakness over all, or one specfic area
(3) How many hours did you study and what were your main study tools and methods?

Now firstly I would say take a break and rest, even if you didnt get the result you wanted you did a very intense and difficult exam and give yourself time to recover.

One you motivated and ready again to start studying I would also suggest have a look at me 3 questions above, it may help you root cause which areas you need to focus on, you might be closer than you think.

I passed the exam about 2 weeks ago. Yes, there are many types of related questions, but some of them were distracting and some of them were not. What made the difference, at least for me, was reading the question first, yes, reading it first, so based on that, then reading the whole thing (when I saw it applied to do so), I saved time and mental strength. There were many very long questions, but they did not require reading everything because what they asked was simple, and then they seemed to repeat themselves but another context applied.

I also saw many related to MVP and product.
