Can you please clarify that PMI hasn't made it mandatory to take this training course for the PMP applicants before they could take the PMP exam, correct?
Are there any books which you would recommend to use for the preparation?
Also when would you recommend people to take the new exam like after March/April 2021 once the new PMBOK has been released?

PMI has completely changed the rules: The only approved course is the new "PMI developed PMP Exam Prep Course" that is delivered as a LIVE (no recording!) training to you from Authorized Training Partners.

And yes... this is the only official course. All Authorized Training Partners must deliver the same, PMI materials.
