TOPIC: Applying PDU's for PMP and ACP

Hi,

Given below is the situation.

You are already a PMP.
Passed the PMI-ACP final exam from Prepcast - 21 hour contact certificate.

Applied for 37 PDU's towards PMP.

Can I claim any PDU towards PMI-ACP after passing the exam? As we need 60 PMP + 30 ACP PDU's.

Sekar,

Here is how this works:

First of all, you need CONTACT HOURS before you take a PMI exam and you need PDUs after you have passed your exam. You can only earn PDUs after you have passed a specific exam.

So if you are already PMP certified and you have taken Final Exam for The Agile PrepCast, then your certificate of completion counts as follows:
- 21 Contact Hours are applied towards your PMI-ACP Exam application
- 37 PDUs are applied towards you PMP exam

You CANNOT earn PDUs for an exam BEFORE you have passed the exam. Therefore, you CANNOT use the certificate of completion from The Agile PrepCast as PDUs towards your PMI-ACP re-certification.

Anything you earn BEFORE an exam is not valid for exam recertification.
