I wouldn't say that it is 'important' for you to know them but it definitely won't hurt. You can expect questions like "What is the Peter Principle" or "Which of the following is the Deming circle?"
However, this isn't something I would be putting too much focus on. Learning who said what or created which principle/rule should just come "naturally" from your studies and answering sample exam questions.
For the exam do I need to know who contributed what. E.g. Who introduced Little's Law, Money for Nothing and Change for Free...ect or any other contributor to a specific method or tool?
