I failed my PMI -ACP exams today . AT in leadership, T in Product , BT and needs improvement in Mindset and delivery respectively.
Very much frustrating, I kept passing the prep cast with above 80% scores and felt confident , not anymore. Low energy to retake.
Don’t know what else to study or where else to start from.

Hi Nana,

Thank you for sharing this — we know how hard it is to open up about setbacks, and we're really sorry to hear about your PMI-ACP result. It’s completely normal to feel drained and frustrated after putting in so much effort, especially when your prep test scores showed promise.

First, please remember: this exam does not define your potential or capability. Many successful ACPs have experienced similar challenges and bounced back stronger with a more targeted approach.

Here are a few suggestions to consider as you regroup:

1. Take a short mental break. Burnout is real. Resting for a few days (or even a week) can help you return with a clearer head.

2. Review your score report. Identify the specific content domains where improvement is needed (Mindset and Delivery). You might benefit from revisiting Agile principles and delivery frameworks with a different resource or format (videos, coaching, study groups, etc.).

3. Connect with others who’ve passed recently. Ask them what resources helped most in the areas you struggled with. Sometimes it's just a matter of framing or learning style.

4. Consider a fresh study approach.

5. Don’t go it alone. Join a small study group or accountability thread — many here are happy to partner or support.

Your feelings are valid, but this is just one step in your journey. We believe in you, and the fact that you’re reaching out shows resilience. When you’re ready, you can retake it — and do even better.

Wishing you all the very best!!

Hi Nana -

I agree with what Sameer said. If you failed once, it's not the end of the world because you have two other attempts. There's a great PM Podcast article that talks about what to do if you failed any PMI Exam, whether it's the CAPM, PMP, or PMI-ACP. Check out this article for more insight into your next steps: How to Recover from a Failed PMP Exam - The Complete Guide https://www.project-management-prepcast.com/failed-pmp-exam . You may also want to reach out to a PMI Exam coach who can offer you additional insights. As a note, I wouldn't take too much time off before your next attempt.

Happy Studying!

Hi Nana, I agree with the previous answers here, and you should definitely take a break of a couple of weeks to refresh your mind.

I have a question for you: do you have experience in Agile teams or in delivering software projects?
I am wondering whether you can leverage any relevant experience to tap into the "Mindset" and "Delivery" aspects where you would need to focus.
This goes back to a question of answering the question: "What problem is Agile trying to solve (that waterfall cannot)?"

Try to focus on the basics, speak to others and utilize the feedback loop of practice tests. Analyze where you have gaps in your understanding and take a targeted study approach the next time around.
Sometimes, the second time is when you go into this with much more clarity, best of luck!
