Practice, practice.. 65% is not at all a bad score for an initial attempt. The more you practice, the better you will get - it is the only way forward. Best of luck!

Hi Millete

I used PrepCast PMP exam simulator for my testing prep and it worked wonderfully.

After only reading the book I tested in 50-60% range.

After using my incorrect answers as a study guide (PrepCast tells you why each answer is incorrect as well as where to find details on which makes the correct answer correct) I was able to get my score to 60-65% range

I then began to take exams and quizzes on a weekly basis (30 question quiz a night; 2 hour exam on the weekend)
When my quizzes we’re consistently in 70%+ range, and my exams were the same, I felt comfortable enough taking the PMP exam.

I passed in my first try, but I would be disingenuous if I said it was easy. I felt prepared and I understood the information but the PMP exam has a way of wording answers that they all look true. You have to be confident on the terminologies and practices.

Good luck on your exam and PMP journey!!

Hi Millette -

I often get the question, "What is the actual score I need to pass the PMI-ACP Exam? PMI won't tell us, but I have heard 62.5%, 65%, and 67%. So, how do you know when you are ready to sit for the actual exam? This is where the OSP International PMI-ACP Simulator comes in. I recommend that you take a complete 3-Hour 120-question practice exam each weekend. When you take your first practice exam, you will fail miserably, and believe me, a 65% score is excellent. I scored 42% correct on my first practice exam, but this is just a baseline. As you take more of these full 120-question practice exams, your score will continue to go up. When your score is 75% or higher on one of the OSP PMI-ACP Exam Simulator Practice Exams, you are ready to sit for the actual exam. I'm not sure what simulator you are using, but if it's not the OSP International PMI-ACP Simulator, the following is a link for a 7-day free trial so that you can get a view of the functionality.

I’m in the middle of studying for the ACP exam, and I just took one of the practice tests to check my progress. I scored about 65%, not terrible but not where I want to be either. Definitely feeling a little overwhelmed right now and trying to figure out the best next steps.

To all others, what score range told you that you were “ready”?

It'd be great to hear how others bounced back from early scores like this.
