TOPIC: Balancing Work & PMI-ACP Training: How Did You Pull It Off?

Hey folks,

I’m challenged to carve out time for the required Agile training while keeping up with my fast-paced job.

For those who’ve gone through the PMI-ACP journey, how did you make it work? Were certain courses more adaptable to a packed schedule? Did you spread learning across weeks, or go all in with an intensive boot camp?

I’d love to hear your experiences, strategies, or even cautionary tales about what worked (and what didn’t). Let’s swap insights!

Full disclosure - I am biased towards the PM PrepCast's training material - which I used to pass my exams (PMP and PMI-ACP).
I also prepped for and passed the PMI-ACP exam while navigating a divestiture (that I was project-managing) and the hours were intense (12 hours on average).
This was also when my child was just 2 years old, and needed a good amount of attention and care from me!

The flexibility offered by PrepCast was immense - listen to lessons on my commute, lessons on demand, etc.
Of course, above all, I believe in practice - so I kept practicing in bite-sized portions (often I didn't have time for a full test).

I strongly believe in the power of breaking things down.
As a previous mentor used to say "How do you eat an elephant? Cut it into tiny pieces, that's how!"
