The CAPM exam is a knowledge-based exam, which tests your understanding of the theory described in the PMBOK Guide. Therefore, you DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY, and 100% want to read, study and understand the guide.

I strongly recommend that you obtain a copy. Either purchase a printed copy from Amazon or sign up for your PMI membership and then download a PDF version to read on your tablet/PC.
