Is the adaptive life cycle (change-driven or agile methods) a specialisation of the iterative and incremental life cycle (iterations) because the iterations of the adaptive life cycle are much quicker?

- iterative & incremental life cycle: NASA project with an iteration of 1 year
- adaptive life cycle: software development project with an iteration of 2-3 weeks
