I managed to pass my PMP exam in October! I work full time, have a very busy schedule with meetings through out the day. I was also in the middle of moving in a foreign country!
Here are some tips from my studies. Hope it helps everyone else trying to pass the exam!
1. Materials used - PM Prepcast simulator, Rita Mulcahy 10th edition, Agile practice guide, the PMP hand book 6th Edition.
2. I booked my exam in advance, so it allowed me to break down my study schedule and plan it in my daily schedule.
3. It took me a month to read through the materials, I was skimming through alot and used it more refering back to it when I was doing the PM simulator questions.
4. The simulator is A MUST, it gives clear reasoning and explanation for the answers, the correct and incorrect ones.
5. The simulator was slightly more difficult than the actual exam, but its good to be well prepared.
6. I made notes in a note book, for all the incorrect answers from the simulator. and I revised through these notes the night before the exam.
7. I ended up doing around 2000 questions, 2 exams, for the 1st attempt in the exam, i got 70% which was slightly low and did make me slightl worry. but the simulator gives u a break down where your weak points are. I spent alot of my time targeting at these weaker points and eventually got to 80% in my second attempt of the exam.
8. on the day, be sure not to eat anything heavy before the exam, the exam is around 4 hours, and can be extremely tiring, and on a heavy stomach, you could feel sleepy.
I hope this helps out anyone who is attempting on taking the exam, and good luck!
