Student Profile: Timothy J. Ruth, PMP
I am a Naval Academy 2011 graduate and served as a Naval Officer for 5 years in the Surface Warfare community. I have served in Japan, the Persian Gulf, and Mayport, Florida. I knew that I would transition out of the military and wanted to have a resume booster, and that I wanted to be a project manager! Right now I just started my career search, targeting the construction industry, and having the PMP Certification has opened the doors for interviews.
Start with the core basics, read the most up to date version of the PMBOK guide. Follow up each section with the videos provided by PM PrepCast. Then take the practice exams, the exams provided by PM PrepCast were extremely similar to the actual exam.
Three days leading into the exam, I re-read the PMBOK Guide, and would take 2 PM PrepCast exams a day, AT LEAST. Then, focus on key topics you missed.
